I have a pair of 30S-1s, and I always thought that the ALC circuit was like shutting the gate after the horses had already run through..... gotta make grid current to prevent grid current... but neve

One gets away / some get stopped / one gets away / some get stopped ( repeat-repeat-repeat ). I would prefer an ALC with a variable conntrol that could be adjusted to limit the exciter *JUST BEFORE*

Amplifing the rectified RF is an easy way to increase the ALC sensitivity. The NCL-2000 used a voltage doubler that was quite effective. Ive also seen more elaborate circuits. Carl KM1H _____________
