Thats what happens when underated parts are used by an unknowing builder more interested in saving a few bucks. Throw them all away and get something that will hold up. The ONLY caps I would use in t

5kV on an 8877 on six meters??? Good luck with that! Even so you have 5400V of working load voltage rating. Sounds plenty good. Most of the reason caps let go like that are open equalizing resistors
