Assuming a transformer turns ratio of 11, a 10 ohm 25 to 30 watt wirewound in the filament transformer primary would probably put you very close to the right voltage. Mark WB8JKR ____________________

Looking for some input on using 3-500Z in the 2k-2 as opposed to the 4-400's The 400's were zero bias and I have heard of folks just putting in the 3-500 without any mods. Any thoughts? Bob _________

I believe the 3-500Z is physically larger (taller) than a 4-400. Don't have any other information. de Paul, W8AEF ZF2JI/ZF2TA FO8DX/FO8PLA 8Q7AA XZ0A VU7RG TX5D ______________________________________

Are you sure they are 4-400's? My 2K (early model with no "dash") originally came with 3-400's. In any case, 3-400 to 3-500 requires new chimneys and a little extension to the parasitic chokes to mak

The Henry never came with 4-400's from the factory. They used 3-400Z's The compatibility question with the 3-500Z has already been properly answered by another earlier. Carl KM1H ____________________

John, you might try disassembling the meter and look for the cause of an open circuit. Some times there is a small series resistor inside that can go open circuit. I had a 10vdc meter recently that w
