06/09/2012 21:32 What is a readily available plain (unclad) board material to use to build an electrolytic capacitor array supporting a 5kV supply for a 3CX1000A7 tubed linear please? I am in the UK,
5KV is not recommended for a 3CX1000A7. Ive been running a hair over 3000V on my 2M amp that was a pull when I built it 25+ years ago. It still will do 1800W out. Carl KM1H 06/09/2012 21:32 What is a
Ooops, typo there Carl, should be 3CX3000A7 (in a Henry 2000D RF generator). It's been brought to my attention that I should have cited an operating temp for the baord. I can only guess, the enclosu
REPLY: In my homebrew 3kV power supply, I used a high density polyethylene cutting board I bought in WalMart's kitchen department for a couple dollars. Works fine, but I don't know about it's temp ra
I think the temp rating of those cutting boards is fairly high, as you can place meat that was just cooked at 400F directly on the board without damage or discoloration. Or, at least I do that! WB2WI
Beef is quite well done at 200F. Beef at 400F would, at best, be jerky. More likely, shoe leather! What's wrong with good old glass-epoxy? Al AB2ZY I think the temp rating of those cutting boards is
Hello all, Abt 25 years ago, I used HDPE for a coil form/ support for my HB 8877 amp. I notched the edge to control the pitch of the coil. Worked out nicely. Several months ago, it caught fire during
G10 FR4 is the material used in circuit boards. One source of properties is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FR-4 If you Google "FR4" you'll find a LOT more. For higher temperature applications you want
Ive seen the ex take a pot right off the stove and melt one of those! She also charred the kitchen counter with a similar stunt. No surprise, she is a Scotch Noofie! Carl KM1H I think the temp rating
