- Has anyone every converted a Kenwood TL-922A to work on 6M rather than 10M? My TL-922A has never had the 10M conversion done and I'm considering trying a conversion to 6M for that position on the ban

- Clay -- The fly in the pie is that the stock, variable 150pF Tune-C has too much minimum-C for 50MHz operation. To fix this problem, one needs a 5 - 25pF unit -- which isn't going to have enough C be

- _________________________________________________________ This problem can be fixed with a simple coil acting as an L-network connected between the plate choke and the input tuning capacitor. I used

- Interesting idea Bill. Is your SB-1000 converted for 6M only now or did you retain 160-15M? If the latter, did you have to short out the new coil or move any of the coil taps for 160-15M operation? C

- _________________________________________________________ It's for six meters only. I removed all the coils and bandswitch. As for shorting out the L-network coil, the ARRL handbook states this is ge

- Thanks Bill. I'll check out the ARRL handbook and do the calculations to see if I can come up with a matching network that will handle 160-15M as well as 6M. I guess my other other option is to look
