In several months I shall be doing the very same thing. The procedure I have used in the past is to put a VOM on the high Voltage line and watch the 5R4s and the meter as you increase the AC Voltage,

My RCA tube manual says (for 2 tubes ICAS) 600 volts Vp, 214 ma Ip, Po 104 watts! As you state in your article on 6146 series tubes, the 6293 is mo better in this application. 73, Roger _____________

My DX-100 (with no more than 120 Volts ac coming in) I had 900 Volts on the plates, with every Volt meter that I could find, I know it's not suppose to be that high but is was. 375 unmodulated Watts

I know what the RCA transmitting tube manual and the specification sheets show for the output. However, those are outputs which do not take into consideration things like losses in matching networks,
