Use a grid dip meter and make sure the plate choke is not resonant in circuit with tubes in place on the freq. you want to operate on. Actually whenever you change the plate choke this should be done

Sorry. Here it is: I've heard that RF can damage electrolytic caps, so it it a problem. You might try paralleling a larger bypass capacitor at the bottom of the choke. If you do that, you will notice
