I got a SB-230 Amp at a local hamfest with a bad 8873. I'd like to replace the 8873 with something affordable. Can someone point me to a conversion article on the 230 that uses an air cooled tube? 73

Depends on what you mean by affordable. With major surgery you could change to a 3CX800. Although readily available they aren't exactly cheap either. 73 Roger (K8RI) ________________________________

Thats awful lot of work. And then hope the source of tubes doesnt dry up. Ive done a swap by sawing off the side of an 8874 (dont laugh, they "were" cheap) and TIG welding a heavy brass plate. I forg
