Hello Jeff, have a look at the tube, I will bet that the pin came unsoldered from heat and sparking occurred in between the tube pin and the outer pin. The sparking causes an insulation type deposit

Peter -- I use 6%-Ag, 94% Sn. It melts at 221C. It's not as strong as other silver-solders, but it can be soldered with an plain vanilla soldering iron instead of a flame-thrower. cheers On Apr 5, 20
