Greetings A few months ago someone posted the link for this company after using some of their silicone hose for a chimney(s). I bought some of the 2.5 inch hose for a pair of 3cx800's I have. It is a

The purpose of a chimney is not to absorb RF radiation but to direct airflow. The only specification that really matters is whether or not it will survive the ambient temperature of its environment.

Why not do it the way the commercial amp builders do it. Take a piece of about 1/8" silicone rubber sheet, roll it into a tube of the proper size, and use Silastic RTV (TM) or any other RTV) and make

To expand on this, take a piece of conduit, wood dowel, plastic tube, or anything else of the proper diameter (usually just a little smaller than the OD of the tubes). Wrap the sheet around the tube

Point taken. With the exception of a chimney pulling double duty as an anode resonator such as in K5GW's 432 amp, the chimney material shouldn't be conductive or rf absorbant. _______________________

When you need custom silicone parts, such as tube chimneys, they can often be made completely from RTV sealant. Just find or make a suitable form, smear sealant into it, let it set, then remove the f

Jim, Not really! A chimney for a 4CX1500B, for example, would be about 8.2cm inner diameter, and at most 10cm tall. Making it a half centimeter thick, which is rather generous, you need 273ml of sili
