Hello Amp people, After nearly 50 years of hamming at the 100 W level, I have lately got interested in making bigger zaps, dimming house lights, offending the neighbors, etc. So I've been surveying t

Hi Martin, How about HOMEBREWING a linear amplifier to YOUR specifications...? It's really not all that insurmountable a task (heck, I've built three here myself -- others have surpassed that number!

Eddy, Home brew is certainly an option, but it's not the quickest way to get something on the air. It's not cheap if you value your time, but it's great if you enjoy the process. I'm tempted. Thanks

You can buy factory built GS-35 amps but not US made. I have seen Australian factory made, some former easter bloc factory made (very small quantity), I think there is a UK factory made as well. 73,

I wonder if the factory price of the GS-35b is also less then that of a 3-500Z. No commercial amp factory would buy their GS-35b through eBay or dark channels without warranty I guess. The plate diss

No commercial manufacturer using common sense would use a tube that doesn't come from a current production source. It's asking for problems. Look at the mess Ten Tec got into with 4CX1600's. 73 Tom

Never, especially not with the same drive at 4KV. When >2500W are claimed on that website, I claim 1000W for a 3-500Z or similar tube. Tony is using factory data when comparing the 8877 with the GS-3
