My test of 4-1000A tubes .... 4000 volts under load. 100 watts drive power. 14.2 MHZ. Amplifier terminated into a Bird 2500 watt dummy load. Power output read with a Bird 43 wattmeter with 2500 watt

Terry.... I don`t think envelope coloring (or the lack of it!) is any indicator of tube output capibility as far as the 4-1000 family of tube is concerned.I have tested a lot of filthy looking bottle
