I have no idea these days, as its been a decade since I bought any at work. I am guessing around $100 for something like 4 uF. 20 should cost more. I may be way off though. John --Original message--

16uF 5KV NOS from Henry runs around $120 when they have them. I shudder to think what "brand new" would cost. Carl must drive pretty nice cars. ;-) 73, Jim N7CXI _____________________________________

I've bought oil filled caps from Henry in the past and found them to be very helpful and their capacitors very good. I see fewer and fewer of this type of thing at hamfests these days and those that

If I could get a Russian oil cap cash and carry at a hamfest I'd give one a try. I see them on eBay and they _look_ okay, but I am hesitant to go through all the import and shipping and waiting to fi

I got a quote from one company (I won't mention names), 30uF 5KVDC, $1495. I consider that ridiculous. RF Parts also replied that they can no longer supply the caps they were selling. Mike, W1NR ____

Out in the shop, I have a number of used oil caps. I would sell them cheap, probably shipping would be more then the price. If someone has a real-genuine-sincere interest in these, I can dig them out

Yes and no but I dont have payments either; my winter beater is a 92 Taurus (-; Ive heard of some paying $250-400 to have a new cap made for a typical 1000-2500W BC TX. I think Dahl used to sell them

That sounds like a laser discharge cap as a TX oil cap isnt listed at a peak. Anyway those have to be derated 30-50% in a high ripple ham supply as the ESR is very high. Carl KM1H ___________________
