Hello All: I think that I have the right group to ask this question: Being new to tube amps, can someone please tell me the right procedure to tune an AL-80B? I am not new to ham radio, just the amp.

Switch amplifier meter to power output. Send a carrier of about 20 watts from exciter to the amp. Tune for maximum output with both load and tune. Send another 20 watts from exciter to amp, peak load

Tuning for max smoke with the Tune & Load controls while watching the grid current always works for me, at least for triodes. A Pecker also works in lieu of plain old key down saves the final and the
