More like RF getting back into the Mic line ("Breakthrough") the usual problem at VHF when you start throwing larger ammounts of RF about, than you have in the past.. Regardless of if he run's SSB,

i agree with all the sugestions you have presented guys. i had him check the bias voltage, but i am not sure if he understood my instructions. he did ground the rig and amp. how well i dont know. i a
