On 17M you are close to 14mhz and 21 mhz, and on 12M you are close to 21mhz and 28mhz. I wouldn't even try a tuner on such a tribander. de Joe, aa4nn Lake Wylie, SC __________________________________

I've owned a Hy-Gain Explorer 14 and now have a Cushcraft X-9. Both worked on 12M; the EX-14 even had some F/B. Only used them a few times to work DXpeditions when another antenna was not available.

The C3 series from Force 12 can be tuned on 17 and 12 with patterns. One of them is reversed if I recall correctly, but useable. But those antennas don't use traps. I would be wary of tuning trap tri
