I've always felt a bit embarrassed calling a US station to get the W multiplier, knowing it is usually a big gun calling CQ (thanks K9NS for the double mult on 10!) and this is just a waste of time f

Hi all, Gary's point is well taken, but I would counter that the frequencies we use are there for the good of all amateurs, not just contesters, even during a contest weekend. The casual guy just "tr

Yep, happens every year, particularly in ARRL DX SSB on Sunday morning. It's an almost sure bet that these same USA stations I've worked to get them off the freq calling me will send me a QSL, too. S

Hi all: Forgive me if this sentiment has been mentioned before. If I understand NQ4I's argument, he asserts that he worked 600 zero pointers and that these QSOs diminished his capacity to work QSOs w

Removing someone from the log before submitting it is as unfair as confirming a QSO and not logging it, IMHO. They might lose their W/K/N mults and get penalized for a NIL to boot. Sorry, I just don'

Why remove the USA stations? This means that if those USA stations submit logs, the contest judges will find a NIL in their logs where they worked you. Furthermore, that contact might be a valid mult

People aren't noticing that Zack said he was talking about ARRL DX, not CQ WW. Dropping the W's from his ARRL DX log isn't going to hurt anyone else's score. It does however seem like an awful lot of
