I have been trying to ignore this thread but: 0 pointers are not all zero for the contestor calling you... He may need you to fill that USA zone in his log... That QSO is not zero for him... He may b

I think the higher percentage of 0 pointers have to be those who are not familiar with the contest rule and are just trying to help. Changing to the multiplier without a QSO would not help that situa

Hi Ken...nice analysis, but you have missed the mark...the two cases stated are not as representative as the past 10 years worth of contest data...I have historically had more zero pointers than anyo

I think there is a desire to eliminate intracountry QSO parties - as in what we see in the IARU contest where large stations make literally hundreds of unique QSOs - all with in-country stations. Now

Be careful what you ask for Rick. You purport to want to level the playing field (something which really can never be done). In fact, you're going to make a perceived disadvantage even worse. If you

And right now - all of those broken USA calls do not affect your score but if you get one point for each one they will lower your score. I do not think I would like to see this change to the CQ WW po

I agree with Denis on this. Last CQ WW I was in Colorado with EA1BXN at W0LSD´s station (thanks a lot, Ken). We made hundread of zero pointers and dozen of unique calls. I´m truly convin

Rick, I am 100% behind you on this! Since most of my contesting is on 10 mtrs, I also have the same problem with zero pointers and find them to be very frustrating indeed. I have the same propagation

The distance from San Diego to Seattle is about 1000 miles. Both are in zone 3. Central Texas (Zone 4) is about the same distance. Using your suggestion, I would get zero points for the Seattle QSO,
