I agree that the CQ-WW's are good contests, but I also think consideration should be given to exploring alternate ways of scoring.  These could be developed and perfected over time and done in parall

If you cant work the EU mult on 80M or run EU on the band, it doesnt matter what the scoring is. 0 x infinity still equals 0. Its kind of like NAQP from W1. If I cant hear W2/W3 on 15M, they could be

The only other way you could score it without disrupting the event would be distance based. If you were to adopt a 0 point for same zone and same country, 1 point for different zone but same country,

Excellent point Ed and I am glad that all contest are not the same. Every year someone wants to change the CQWW rules to match some other contest. We should all know by now that ham radio contesting

Just one comment. In '70's and '80's, the map was totally different. From Texas, we could conquer both EU and JA (and of course many U-zones with QRH and chirp) to win the world. Seems JA's activity
