Hi fellows: Since I am looking at selling my entire Ham Station in order to buy a FT-1000D I posted a question to the only group I knew who might know anything about the rig. I asked the FT1000MP gro

Well so much for selling my station for a 1000D I have it on good authority that just ain't gonna happen with what I've got. Wishful thinking I guess. At least we have a nice group now for the rig an

Is the FT-1000D the only rig that has true dual receive or does the FT-1000MP and FT-1000MPMKV also have this? Or does any other make and model have it now also. I have tried to search for "dual rece

Hi Bob, The Ten Tec Orion, Icom 7800 and Yaesu FTDX9000 series also have true dual receive. The FT1000 model did if you added the BPF-1 unit, which was standard in the FT1000D 73s John W5TD (ex NE0P)

The problem is there is no common definition of 'dual receive' the ft-1000mp/mk-v series has a second rx vfo. But it shares the antenna and front end with the main receiver so is only useful on the s

Not sure what you mean by "true dual receive." I have three rigs that can receive on two bands at the same time: ICOM 775DSP (second VFO can be tuned to a different band) Ten-Tec Orion (two separate

I am sitting in front of a MKV and it does not have true dual receive. It has in-band dual receive, i.e. if I'm on 40m I can tune around 40m with the sub receiver but no other band. Also the sub rece

Define "true dual receive". For my money, "true dual receive" means that when transmitting on one frequency, a receiver tuned to another band using another antenna still operates. So far as I have be

Bob, I am an FT-1000D owner and can report that the radio indeed has true dual receive. By this I mean it can simultaneously receive on two different bands, with two different modes if necessary. It
