Are some of the newer programs using leading zeros (002) in the serial numbers? I find it harder to copy these numbers because you think you missed a leading dit especially on weaker stations. Is the

I sent my entire exchanges with a keyer and never used leading zeros. No one seemed to have a problem with it. I did hear one station using cut numbers in his serial number and that confused me. How

I dunno about these, but several guys used "cut numbers" in their CK and it really through me off requiring requests to repeat. IMHO, "cut numbers" (you know, "N" for "9") should be completely banned

Mike, This should already be the case in most of the mainstream loggers. I know that N1MM has this on the function key dialog under the configuration menu. I'm almost certain I've seen this Writelog

Mike, I use Scott's software (N3FJP). It does not use leading zeros and I don't think you can if you wanted to. IMHO they just take up time. What I really don't like is the leading T's, that really c

Eric, I agree. I received many variations like 3T5 for 315- you know the routine, during SS this past week-end. I have to tell you - after listening to code for 14 hrs straight, my brain gets a bit f

Interesting because I did not start with leading 0's or T's and got asked for a bunch of fills until I changed to leading zeros. Getting a number 6 18 hours in made me wonder if I missed a number. Mi

A good reason not to use cut numbers ... I would've taken 3T5 as "305". Ouch! 73, Zack W9SZ _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list CQ-Contest@contesting.com http://li

Again my point stands - if you mean 315 then send 315 not something else. It just confuses the issue. Or maybe we should make up a whole new group of abbreviations, we could just send e for 599, that
