Question re UBN point reductions for the knowing... I had one busted (-B) and one NIL (-N) QSO for stateside stations (they called me. Go figure...) It appears that I lost 12 points for each of them.

Barry: I am certain that this is not the case. Penalty points are assessed according to the value of the QSO that is lost. So zero point qsos that are Bad or NIL result in zero points for the penalty

Barry, This is how we handle the ARRL 10M and 160M contests. (ARRL 160 has W/VE = 2, DX = 5 and ARRL 10 has CW = 4 and SSB = 2). Penalties are ONE EQUIVALENT QSO. I would have expected the CQWW team

Tim, I reviewed Barry's UBN and his interpretation was incorrect. The value of the QSO is removed as well as the penalty. So, the total amount removed from your final score - per qso is figured this
