I believe that's right, David, the RX port is not switched off/out when the rig is transmitting. To protect my radio, especially now that I have an amplifier, I installed a relay to disconnect my K9A
I'd imagine that, with an antenna like the k9ay, you'd also want to switch out the preamp, too? Or do you not use one? (I'm considering putting up a pennant this summer--that's why I'm asking.) Mike
Well, this unit goes between the K9AY control box and the radio, and disconnects the whole thing, preamp and all, from the radio. I'm not sure whether RF coupled to the loop could damage the K9AY box
I would. See N1EU's web site for his simple receiver saver circuit. A few diodes and a resistor David Jordan, Principal Antenna Design Engineer DFSS Six Sigma BlackBelt M/A-COM 1011 Pawtucket Blvd Lo
Its not a problem, and its not so2r... this is starting on mm2rpb, the next level of m/m. I was trying to figure out if it was safe to have an mp listening on a beverage while another radio was trans
Hi, ... I used that when I enterd a WPX CW against OH8L on 20m at OH9W a few years ago. OH8L was practically unbeatable before that one. Both radios were FT1000MPs. Unmodified at that time .. blah bl
