You mean it is not possible to run unattended FT-8 qsos? 73 Peter, DJ7WW Lots of people repeat lots of things they hear from others that turn out to be false. When I was growing up it was called goss

Was it really a complete contact? Version 1.9 was prone to a lot of false decodes when left idle for a few minutes. It looks like a station is calling you, but the program will not answer, unless you

Unmodified or without the aid of other programs/macros, a maximum of one contact is possible if you activate the 'Enable TX' yourself. 73 de Vince, VA3VF 73 Peter, DJ7WW _____________________________

So, you are modifying the program then. Is that what you meant by "If I had an automated CQ (which doesn't seem that technically difficult)"? This is the part that people either maliciously or ignora

A couple of the older Soviet satellites had a CW robot you could work.  You could even get a QSL for it.  How great would it be to work nobody in space!!73 John AF5CCSent from my U.S. Cellular® Smart

My QSO's are with other radios through their antenna systems, my antenna system, my radio, and me. My contribution includes building my station, finding that other radio to work, and making the QSO.
