What is unique about this operation is that the operator is on a business trip in Bangalore India. It seems to me that remote-control contesting makes about as much sense as remote-control hunting.

Certainly not so if you use wireless links in the ham bands, like K6VVA does for example. Ergo his QSO's are valid, by your lights. What about people that use a public utility for electrical power? A
