I'm playing a little in the ARRL DX contest and I've noticed something new that I don't recall from previous years. Several DX stations have sent their power as zero watts. I've received 5NN T, 5NN T
I worked 2 of those 0 and 00 stations also. Both were from KP4. Missed the 10 meter opening today, did hear V51YJ yesterday on 15 but didn't get him. Nice to hear 15 open to other hemispheres at this
I noticed the same thing. Very confusing. Their loss. We should just go to H for high power, L for low power, Q for qrp and D for over your legal limit......short for DQ. W0MU (For some reason, n
My guess, just a guess - is that the puerto rico folks are protesting the situation on the territory where they have NO POWER. 73 Ria, N2RJ _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest
This is exactly right. Rusty posted this on the NCCC reflector yesterday. = = = = = = both NP4Z and NP4G are making statements that commercial power has still not been restored in much of P
So my message during the weekend should have been 5NNKW/00 ;)) - partial power It seems to me that Ria might have solved the code ;) 73 de RM2D Mats _______________________________________________ CQ
I heard a few of the "T T" stations during the weekend. As it turned out, I didn't manage to work them (only a part time effort this year due to family obligations). At the time, I figured they were
I worked three, think they were all kp4....0, 00 and ,000.....they were all doing pretty good for no power !!!!!! I just logged what they sent zero , double and triple zero..... _____________________
JohnCould it be that stations were sending ATT for 100 w., etc? As you stated, conditions were in the toilet for you, so maybe the A sounded like a T?? 73 Tom K0SN ___________________________________

While I have the utmost sympathy to our fellow Amateurs in PR, I'm not certain that the ARRL DX contest is the appropriate place to make a political statement. If that is indeed what the "00" power w
I didnt get it at the time (duh!), but it certainly makes sense now. The contest organizers will deal with it. As contest ops it is our prime directive to copy what is sent so on that front, fine! TT
It has to be tough living with a generator for that long. Congrats to the KP4's continuing with their normal lives and getting on the air for the DX contest. I hope that the ARRL accepts the zero pow
The fact that we are now talking about it is reason aplenty they should have done it. People are dying and I think thats much more important than a radio contest. I support their right to protest and
Clearly the guy sending "TT" had twice as much power as the guy sending "T". HI HI. I got several "LO" and "LOW"s, not just from SA but also EU. I heard a couple "TTT"'s that I was able (by back and
Does it matter what you send vs what class you enter into? Should it? Is it in the spirit of the rules to send unexpected data and wrong data? I looked back at our V3M LCR and about 50 people deci
Don't forget the special callsign DX1S also = DX IS. I think that was in 2001 or so. _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list CQ-Contest@contesting.com http://lists.con
Answering the following may require the efforts of an even older fart than I have become, but here goes: I have a vague recollection from ages and ages ago of some people sending "000" instead of "KW
One station is the VI - NP2J - also sent 5NN TTT as his exchange. I guess the guys at NP2N and KP2M didn't get the memo since they sent either K or KW as their power :) Jeff _________________________
Power in St Croix is mostly restored, perhaps NP2J is one of the few still without it? John KK9A One station is the VI - NP2J - also sent 5NN TTT as his exchange. I guess the guys at NP2N and KP2M di
