Logging cut numbers as the letters sent seems rather silly to me. The argument that, "but that is what was sent" is refuted if you think about how the callsign is sent: dah di dah dit dah dit dit dit

How about a simple rule: When sending numbers that convey no information, go ahead and use cut numbers. For example, 5NN, T for leading zeros, CQ zones where you know the zone from the callsign. For
