Gentlemen, There are two distinct issues here: Differential Mode noise and Common Mode noise. Differential mode exists from one conductor to another in the same bundle or harness. It is probable gene

The FT -etc. numbers are from Amidon. Fair Rite uses the first two numbers for product line and the next two for core material. I have found four inch OD 31 material toroids on sale at flea markets.

I respectfully disagree with your statement, Bill. When I was trying to solve the RFI problems with my Honda EU2000i, I tried using a B&W AC line filter that I had lying around the shack. It did abso

Type 73 appears to be a good choice for HF, but I don't think Fair-Rite Products produces it in toroid form. I think it's only available in bead form or binocular cores. I just measured an ~12" long

So how clean of a sine wave does it put out? Something approaching a real sine wave, or something like the "modified sine wave" square waves put out by cheap inverters? Also, how clean is the 12 volt

I looked at the output of my EU2000i on a 100 MHz scope and it looked like a pretty darn clean sine wave. RMS voltage regulation is very good - probably better than the 120 V outlets in my shack. I h

The rig and antenna tuner were completely disconnected from the house wiring and AC safety ground. The only connection was to the truck battery. No ground of any kind. Clay W7CE _____________________
