Hi, RFI can propagate that far, and further.  I had one RFI source 1/2 mile away from me, that turned out to be a grow house, which was 20 over S9.   I would take baseline measurements now...  Get a

Read the archives a couple months back; I located a source thatwas pounding into the QTH at 15 dB over S9. The arcing source was 5 (FIVE) miles away tearing me up on160 meters!  I have had similar 'a

There is no definitive answer to this question. In just a few replies, you can see that RFI can travel great distances. There are an infinite number of combinations all of which result in a widely va

As always, great advice. I'll expand on it only to help understanding. RFI is like any other radio transmitter connected to an antenna -- make RF current flow on a piece of wire and it will radiate.

All good points: I'd add Computers and wired networks. Today's inexpensive computers with plastic cabinets, and "cheap", switching power supplies can be really nasty, when for a little more money the

It depends... I tracked down one source that covered 18 square miles. I suspect it covered a much larger area, but after covering that area, I found it and looked no farther. Although not RFI, I trac

While extreme, the last example should be adequate proof that there is no predicting how far RFI CAN or will travel. I categorize this question in the same manner I categorize questions about what a
