Guys, Thanks for all the suggestions. To answer some questions: The TV is being fed straight from a splitter direct into the set. I have bypassed the splitter to no avail. No extra stuff to cause pro

Jim Brown would suggest the bucket treatment: dunk the TV in a bucket of water twice; remove once. I think that's how it goes :-) I have a similar, impossible to fix problem with my 13 year old Mitsu

Terry, Toroids in TVI applications are largely, IMO, a big waste of time and money. There are much more effective ways to accomplish the same thing, and at the same time improve lightning immunity. T

Hi all, If you haven't installed a LOW PASS filter on your radio equipment, now is the time to do so. Also, you need to investigate your station ground system. You want to have single point grounding

Hi Dave, You may have missed this, but he operates six meters and has channel two RFI. Short of a helical resonantor or cavity or other very loosely coupled very high Q filters, there isn't anything

I agree with ALL of Tom's comments, including his bonding recommendations for TV antennas (and cable TV lead-ins) and about his comments on filters. That bonding will certainly divert any common mode

The problem in the near field of a transmitter is virtually never reradiation. The very strong field intensity from the transmitter dominates any conducted emissions that are reradiated. The problem

*I* missed this (the second part). I don't recall Terry saying anything about channel numbers where the RFI was happening. We don't even know if it's all channels or only one. The fact that he didn'

Good thing to try. Unless it's the DVD that's the problem. We don't have TVs anymore, it's entertainment systems and any one of the things hooked up to the TV can cause the problem. Unplug everything

Plugging and unplugging a cable does THREE very important (and very different) things. First, it removes one device from a circuit. Second, it removes a current path for noise current that may be flo
