The Comcast cable plan has a lot of high channels. Channel 16 for example is on 774 MHz. The ICE and other high pass filters cut off above 500 MHz making them okay for filtering out the amateur bands

Yes, those are exactly the right questions to ask. It is VERY unlikely that you need a filter. Depending on how RFI is getting into the system, you probably DO need one or more good common mode choke
