I have always used standard "computer grade" APC units for my computers and radio gear. I believe the ones I have now are 1KW models (two of them). I don't know whether they are "the best" or not but

Like Wes, I have great success with the APC units for this application. You will probably get as many opinions as there are days in the week. I've had two APC units, one just bit the dust in November

I've had good results with the Eaton Powerware 5110 1000VA UPS. I have 3 of them in service. They are more of an industrial / commercial grade and cost about 2X as much as an equivalent APC. The 5110
