I use the VX3-R with AM through 903. Not sure I've ever heard any signals on 903, but it works well on 2m and 432, with AM. I suspect the specs listed here are only for modes normally used for commun

Paul, I got memories saved for 75 meters SSB lower, a couple of freq on 2 m. FM, 300 mhz AM (line noise tracking) also 500 Mhz AM, then BCB and 160 m. It is quite a versatile little receiver, but a P

Is there any reason, other than size & versatility (no Ham tx), to not use a Radio Shack PRO 93 or Pro 94 scanner? They *appear* to receive AM across a broad range. -- Pro-93 25-54, 108-174, 216-225,

Two reasons that I can think of: 1) they have no signal-strength meter AND they have AGC so telling whether or not you are approaching or going away from the source of noise is very difficult, and 2)
