I have +40 dB/S9 noise on 75M from a new GE Harmony Washer and can be heard all the way up through 20M. The dryer appears to emit no RFI/EMI. Is there a common cure among the newer generation of was

Looks like this series of Corcom filter may be worth trying on a washer with a VFD motor. http://www.cor.com/pdf/FC.pdf I just ordered one for my GE Harmony Profile-series washer. It's now out of war

Remember that a line filter only kills trash coming out the power cord. If the unit is not well shielded (I believe Chris said some he tested are not), you WILL need to deal with the VFD circuit. One

Some of the washers I inspected had entire panels of plastic with a metal frame. In my case the chassis is 100% steel with plastic facing, the "computer" is more or less boxed, and the VFD is 8 inche

My thought is to isolate any existing cabinet shielding from the RFI abatement. This would include using large #31 toroids on the VFD cabling close to the motor connect point, and also close to the

I agree that considerable caution is a good thing, but I don't agree that you should not touch it. It is certainly reasonable to begin with a small capacitor value and increase it while watching the
