Get XP Pro. If you can't find one with XP, get one with Vista that is "downgradeable" to XP. HP and Dell sell these and there may be other vendors that sell them too. Les W2LK . _____________________

Andrei, Since I just went thru this I will offer my view. I went Vista since most retail machines are now coming with Vista and it's more difficult to get XP. All my SW was running on XP. Here's what

Hi Mac, The system configuration error is not a hard drive problem. You should be able to install your hard drive in another computer and recover all your files. An example would be to install it in
