Gregg, try Don AA5AU's excellent Rtty site and print out and read "Getting Started on RTTY"...take some time and learn about the mode and MMTTY and do a lot of copying and learn how your radio works

This sounds like a com port problem to me. I've had things mixed up several times. Just one example - Let's say the MMTTY standalone is set to an incorrect com port - no keying. Then you go to WriteL
