I've been encouraging digital modes operation for about four years including RTTY between 1800-1810 kc, the segment that the ARRL recommends in it's voluntary band plan. There is a fair amount of PSK

Andy, How about 1811 kc instead of 1808 kc? If not we can certainly operate RTTY between between 1838 kc +/- QRM. I already work European stations on PSK31 on that frequency and we are also trying on

Problem with RTTY operation on 160m has to do with multi-path propagation causing inter-symbol interference. It's the same reason why 300 baud packet works on 20m, but not on 80m. Reducing the symbol
