I read the FB QRZ review of the IC-7000 and was surprised that it only decodes RTTY. What good is a rig with a RTTY decoder only? I don't see the need or appreciate the value of a built-in decoder un
Agreed. Reversed problem with CW - the stupid thing won't decode CW, though it sends it FB. ICOM is all screwed up. Maybe they only intend cross-mode Q's? ;-) Jerry W4UK _____________________________

As far as I understand, the IC-7000 is working split in both RX and TX at the same time. That is good if you are working AFSK with cocoaModem. Am I right? Den 20/12-2005, kl. 18.32, skrev Dick Kriss,
My RTTY contesting rig is the ICOM 756PRO. It also has built-in RTTY decoding (but no direct TX support). I use the RTTY decode screen as a back-up decoder, and was pleasantly surprised to find that

I am using PRO-3 as a primary Radio since January 2005. I bought it after I read the comments from Don, AA5AU. I am happy to have a decoder there, it is a good backup, sometime MMTTY can't help much.
I'm an S&P type given my antennas, so I often use the bandscope on my IC-746PRO. Lately, though, I've had numerous instances of MMTTY crashing so I try to keep the 746's RTTY decoder going since the
I used to have similar problems, and also problems in starting MMTTY from N1MM's digital interface. An upgrade from W98SE to XP cured it completely. -- 73 from Ian GM3SEK ____________________________
