After 3 days of building and re-building a FSK interface between my USB laptop and my Kenwood TS-480 and not getting Windows 10 to recognize my USB to Serial adapters, I have given up. Besides what i

Hi Thom Depends on what kind of radio you have. If your radio lets you use the narrow CW filters in the SSB mode, there is not a whole lot of difference (as long as you have the audio set right. Prob

The ALC is the most important but really once set and left alone it's not a big deal. I use AFSK because it saves messing about changing stuff when I use other modes that need an audio input. The spo

I would like to make a correction FSK or AFSK is not the best performing transmitting method. The reason is simple all the good decoders use narrow filters on both tones and then decode the RTTY sign

Thanks for all the replies. Yeah I have a Signalink USB adapter and I have it adjusted to provide max watts out (about 85, I think) without a trace of ALC on the meter in my 480. I do not send any in

Nothing is bad at all, Thom. Works fine in general. If you use non-standard tones then you need to be careful that filters don't pass the harmonic. USB adapters that don't work are pretty much all 10

Thom, Your radio may not show the true frequency but your logging or contesting software may well be able to show that for you. I use N1MM+ and the screen shows the correct offset frequency. You can
