Thanks Cecil - yes I will try to get mine overwound slightly while it is being rewound. Hammond is the seller of the Dahl transfoemer line now, but they are not taking care of business. Zero response

If you need a new transformer think of it as an opportunity for an improvement to the amplifier. The improvements could be higher plate voltage, and perhaps using a separate transformer for the filam

A secondary fuse for that transformer must be a HV fuse. Thus should it blow, it must not explode or arc internally. Your ordinary 3AG type fuse is not at all suitable for the secondary application.

He said one of the primary windings in shorted. If so, the transformer is history but it would still be suitable for a re-winding job by a transformer company. 73 Bob, K4TAX may not be the transforme

Something about this does not compute. The original post said that he didn't blow fuses until he went from standby to operate. If the transformer were shorted, I'd expect a fuse to blow with first po

Good point Jim. I missed that. In that case likely the fault would be the bias control on the Bias/QSK board. Without doing a magnetization test, as the primaries will show a very low DC resistance,

I don't know anything about this particular amp, but it's pretty easy to troubleshoot most of the Titan 425 with a VOM, because except for the output tubes, it's virtually all discrete transistors an

Nope. The power switch only sends power to pilot lamps and filaments on mine. The standby switch energizes relays that apply primary power up the HV transformer. Best regards - Bry Carling __________

Nope the testing was done as follows: Applied 120 VAC to the secondary. Then check with AC VOLTMETER on the primaries. One showed 3.65 v and the other showed zero. The good primary reads 0.5 ohms and
