I presume the problem is one of the magnetic field from the power transformer injecting hum into some audio transformer or inductor in the radio. A magnetic shield should help. Either over the sensit

Yes, I think I read some time back that in some cases you need extra shielding either in the mic input or the case. My setup is identical to yours, ....moved it to the left side and hum on the audio.
