You'll receive many varied opinions on you question. Yes, they are entirely different rigs. If you like to build, then the K1 will suit you best. Great little rig to operate as well. I have a Argo II

the only down side of the argosy 1 and II is the final transistor are made out of unobtainium.. not even rf parts has them in stock anymore. so, if they go, you will truly have a qrp only radio.. Mik

Hi, I'd love to have an Argosy repaired. Anybody know how to into the S-meter without destroying the radio. The background discs displaying S units, etc., had a tendency to warp and limit needle move
