Hi, I've been considering a new antenna tuner for a new QTH. I've been considering the Ten Tec 238B, Palstar AT1500DT, and an XMatch (N4XM). This will be used in conjunction with a solid state 600W a

OK, I "have" to chime in. In 2006 QST did a comparison of various auto-tuners, including efficiency ratings. The Palstar Auto Tuner was one of them and I expected its more "traditional" design to yie

The Palstar AT-1 Auto has some serious shortcomings. Like no antenna selection( on a $1500 box?) and extremely slow tuning. In fact they are dropping it and coming out with a replacement. At least th

Well I have the Palstar, the LDG 1000 and the MFJ. I just wonder if anybody looks inside ham gear any more. The Palstar looks like a 1.5 kw tuner, but neither the LDG or MFJ look like they can handle

George, I agree with your anecdotal assessment. In considering an auto-tuner, I expected the Palstar, due to its design and construction, to be the clear winner on all counts. That is why the results

Arthur, I have an old LDG tuner that I built in kit form. It has to be 12 years old and it still works great. The LDG 1000 I use for lower power linears....600 to 1000 watts and it works fine. I like

I'm using a Heath SA-2060A with my O2 and 600 W amps. They're great if you can find one in good condition. 73 Ray W2RS _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@conte

I believe the LDG is rated at 1000 watts as per its model number. There are MANY MFJ models, some for 100 watts, others 300 watts, and some rated at 1500 watts output, or more. I don't know which mod

Be careful! There are many products out there with model numbers which suggest certain power ratings, but the real ratings are much lower than the "model number implied power rating". A good example
