Okay boys and girls. the antenna project is done I have a 160 meter doublet feed with 600 ohm line. 130ish feet on each side. Followed the antenna suggestions from everyone and now have it connected

Please define "doublet." Do you mean a single wire dipole, or do you mean a folded dipole? How high is the antenna? How long is the feedline? A single wire dipole has a feedpoint Z in the range of 40

Are you using any extra C connected to the rear terminals of the tuner? Likely needed if the high Z switch is in #5 position. The extra C is 1000 pf @ 500 V as provided by Tentec. I use 256 ft of wir

The TenTec 229/238 tuners have a shortfall on 160 meters because of the 470pf disc caps will not handle the currents involved.  You should replace them with 470pf doorknob caps.  I found them on ebay

The extra / external cap is used across the capacitor bank, starting at position #4 and #5. Both on the Low and High Z sides. I find the text is incorrect, the schematic is correct. Yes a .01 is way

Buy a wooden wine barrel, pour the contents into another container (for future use), and wrap the feedline around the barrel. BTW, I believe 1/8 wavelength on 160m is something more like 66 ft., not

Mike, THIS MIGHT BE YOUR PROBLEM: Maybe the antenna is already too long and its primary resonance on 160m is below 1.8 MHz, AND your analyzer won't tune down that low. The dip you are getting at 2.3
