I'd be curious to know if others have had some transmit audio problems when setting the speech processor (SP) function on the Argo V. Here are some questions Argo V users might like to consider: (1)

Gang, my SP was at a setting of 3. While talking to a station in TX, with my signal being 10 over S9, with SP on 3 there was distortion. This was using TT hand mic or the Heil element in the MC-50. T

Reed, I suggest that you first check this with a dummy antenna listening on a second receiver. Check all bands. It might be better if you make up a clean tape or .wav file recording of your voice and

OK George, I did the recorder thing & I could not detect any distortion. With dummy load or antenna. I used a IC706MKII as the receiver. This was done on 20 meters. Even when it was set to 9 I couldn

You need to set you email client for "word wrap" so it will keep lines short. Well, your tests would seem to eliminate any problem with the rig and your QSO makes it look like at least on 40 that the

George - That was sort of an intriguing aside.... George said: "I wouldn't worry too much about "grounding" since most grounding efforts seem to cause more problems than they fix." I was kind of wond

There are different kinds of ground systems for different purposes. For the purpose of keeping RF potential at the rig low, a good way to go is to have a quarter wavelength piece of wire connected t
