I have had several reports from time to time of my audio sounding distorted. Some say it sounds like RF getting into rig. I have listened to my audio on another rig & I can't detect any unless I turn

The only time I get poor audio reports with the Argo V is when I attempt to use the speech processor (SP). Make sure it's turned off and then seek an audio report. Worked for me!! 73, Rick VE7ASR Web

Differente radios have different sensitivities to RF on the microphone cable. Tentecs sometimes are among the more sensitive. A ground may help. Toroids around the microphone cable at the radio end m

Well, looks like Rick Williams found the problem. Thanks Rick! Darn SP was setting on 3. Don't even know how that thing got turned on. Shame can't use it. I had very good reports after I turned it of

Congrats! But I think the distortion will be revisiting you as use of the sp should be distortion free at a 3 setting. Ben K8DIT

Don't see why one can't use the speech processor. That's what its there for. I still say that it's RF getting into the mike input. Some mikes and or mike cables present more capacitive values to the

I agree with Bob. I found the problem increased as power output increased. I have a special ferrite device inside a small plastic cube that is split and hinged. I wrap the mic cord through it a few t

Well I don't think it's RF in my case. All rigs are well grounded (including the Omni V with the Herc) and the Argo audio was distorted with the processor on and power levels varied from 1 to 20 watt

Don't be mislead by the term "ground". First, I'd say define ground. RF ground especially. A wire running from the rig to a driven ground, water pipe and etc. has length. Any conductor which has leng
