- I would sleep better if my Argonaut 5 / 516 could be a heavy duty BACKUP rig. Would like to hook it up with at least ptt if not qsk to my Titan III. With 20 wts.input you would have a respectable sin

- That is about the TUNE position power output of the Orion. With my Orion, I normally can get about 600 to 800 watts out of my Titan 3 with the TUNE position. So you should have a healthy signal when

- I hooked a TenTec 1340 QRP rig into my Hercules II and got 100 watts out of it! Hey Tom" That Omni VI + sounds great. Think I figured out whats wrong with my cwtype program so let's try it again some

- My K2 will drive my Titan to about 800 watts! It will also drive my original Herc I to about 250 watts. Jim K9YC _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.

- Hi Josh, I had to rely on a similar situation for the 2004 ARRL 160m contest. I have a K2 which only puts out 4 or 5 watts. My linear is a QRO Technologies HF-2000 (2x 3-500z). This combination gave

- Josh, I think you should tap onto the "T" signal in the Argonaut V as the signal to key the Amp. I did this with an old Argonaut 509, running the 405 amplifier. I'm not an engineer so I "stole" ideas

- I am using the T-line to key my Hercules (original) from my Omni V, because it is specifcally designed to be keyed by the T-line of the original Omni-series rigs. It's a very simple mod to go inside

- Jim, I fully agree with you in theory, but I don't think the Argonaut V is designed to be keyed from an external amp. I'm stabbing in the dark here because I've never seen the Argonaut's V schematic.

- The transceiver doesn't have to be designed to be keyed by an amp, it only has to be capable of being keyed by a straight key. The amp keys the transceiver's key jack (as if it were a straight key).
