Just bought a Centurion.  Is little used, full power and working great, black and all that. I just noticed RFParts and the usual ePay sellers no longer list the 3-500zg.  Anybody up on that?  DXengin

Kinda off topic but if RF Parts no longer sells 3-500's we are in trouble. Ameritron manufactures a few amps using the 3-500zg. You might call/mail them and see if they sell the tubes. Mike W8TRN --

I just checked HRO and they list 3-500ZG for $229.95. I do not know how up to date the site is but the tube is "available" and not "out of stock:. Mike W8TRN -- Original Message -- From: "n0dbx via T

Looks to me that RF Parts boast of the 3-500ZG on their web page. https://www.rfparts.com/tubes/tubes-3500.html <https://www.rfparts.com/tubes/tubes-3500.html>    However I didn't find any pricing. I

There will be a price increase SOON. RF Parts apparently will no longer be importing Chinese tubes. This is unconfirmed, but has been reported on social media....i.e. as reliable as the weatherguesse

More accurately, according to Karen at RF Parts, they are searching for a supplier. The only player in the 3-500ZG game is China. Furthermore, she was empathic that they WOULD stock the parts and "cu

Yes, thanks to the new tariffs we can expect tube prices to go through the roof. Most tubes are made in China and branded under a US company. a.k.a. RF Parts. Bob, K4TAX Sent from my iPhone _________

I think most/all of the 3-500's are made in China now.  One can still find some Eimac's that may still be good after all these years.  The near 40 year old one I have may still be good.  Need to put

A comment on 3-500 type tubes.  These types of tubes have an extremely high vacuum.   NOS units are subject to air leakage into the envelope around the pin seals.  The coated anode in the 3-500Z and

Hi Bob, The 3-500 is subject to going gassy.  IF and that's a big if, I put the old Eimac 3-500 in the amp (best I can read the date code on it, it was made in 1979); I'll bring the amp up with a var

I put my 25 year old NOS into my AL-80A and let it cook for a while, then slowly applied power. I slowly ran the output power up until about 400w out. It increasingly was showing a light blue inside.

Yeah, the fireworks can be an oh crap moment! I hate to say it, but solid state amps are the future.  There are some really nice LDMOS amps offered as kits or complete amps from the big companies. 73

I've often heard hams say that they are operating at reduced power on their 3-500 amps.   Reason, to save the tubes.   Well that may not be accurate and, in fact, may just be the opposite.     The 3-
