Hello, I recently purchased this amp. I read in the QST review that their review model showed idle current when in standby. I also read that TT later came out with a fix for that. Well, the amp I jus

Firstly, does the idling current change from standby to operate? If it does not change, and remains the same, you may have no bias at all. The triodes are zero bias tubes and will operate with no bia
The idle current does NOT change between standby and operate. It is over 100 mils (just under the "second line" on the meter or almost 2/3rds of .2 amps.) Doug KR2Q _________________________________
I don't have one of these amps, but I do have three Titans. Ten Tec (and probably most mfrs) develop bias from the low voltage supply (28VDC in the Titans), and both LV and HV supplies are turned on

Ok. Your tubes are not biased. This is not the way they would have built the amp. Depending on your meters accuracy, zero bias might allow 140 mils max. You have no cut off or operating bias. I don't
Watch out where you place your fingers inside that amplifier. Not only will the voltages inside there kill you, it will hurt while you die Be careful! Mike, WB8VGE Mike Bryce prosolar@sssnet.com The
