- Must be Corsair week. :-) I have a new-to-me Corsair I -- my winter refurb project. Good receive (mostly), good condition, two primary issues: 1. No RX 160 and 80: freq counter bounces around on 0.18

- Bill, I have a few across my service bench. The failure on both of my unit have been the crystals not oscillating. A tweak on the capacitors got one to work, the other one seemed to have a flaky sock

- May be apples and oranges, but I had an issue with a Corsair "back when" where the RX on 40M would die after about an hour of operation (as you will see, this would have affected the TX also.) I call

- Number 1 is fixed. As pointed out/suggested loose crystals. I should have know this from my Omni-A/D/C experience. Now on to #2: On transmit I see no power, and no current draw. Whats the best way to

- Maybe not very likely, but perhaps check the 0.015 ohm current shunt resistor to make sure it's not open or that there's not a bad solder joint on the board? I.e. make sure there's power to the final

- Thanks Al. Yeah, I thought of that. At the risk of overthinking this: - no ALC light at all - zero output (both finals gone?) - zero additional current (finals are not shorted?) - both open? maybe th

- On transmit with drive turned down, rig goes from drawing 1A to about 1.4A... bias on finals seems ok. Putting an ammeter in line with the drivers, no current (supposed to be 4 to 8 mA)... bias adju

- Corsair owners, check your manual. Can someone confirm that the wire that must be unsoldered and an ammeter inserted to check the driver bias current is the red wire with the ferrite bead _outside th

- Think I located it. Finally had a chance last night to 1) check the ALC diode on the SWR board -- its ok 2) open up the PA module and take some voltages/transistor checks Check both drivers and PA tr
